Transformative Haptik
Die Tiefen des Materials
Transformative Haptik
The Depth of Material
Transformative Haptics

Concept of the haptic qualities in materials and its functional handling which is based on immersing the hand. The physical as well as the mental ability to act is expanded and opens up new spatial experiences.
A ball, differing from the other spheres, need to be grasped and is registered by means of color-tracking. The reorganization of the quantity of the spheres due to the movements in three-dimensional space is transferred and is converted into sound, likewise the positioning of the tracked ball in the particular sound-area. Also the depth of immersing controls the signal strength.
Interactions with products don´t take place any longer at the - currently flat - surfaces, but in the depth of the material. This requires a sensible, to be developed, handling with the material and the coordination of own actions. New human-object relationships arise out of the concentration of feeling and the connected, audible, impacts. Furthermore a black box hides possible visual signs. This analysis is supported by the neurological finding that simultaneous feeling during hearing increases the intense perception of the brain.
